After you have created a release, click on the Release Date field to set the key dates associated with it.
Release Date
This is the date that all stores will be allowed to begin selling or streaming your release (with the exception of any Exclusive Store Date, or store-specific release dates set via the 'Schedule' tool).
Previously Released (Original Release Date)
If the date a release came out previously is different from the Release Date above (e.g. this release is a remaster or deluxe edition of an older release), you can specify the original release date here:
- This has never been released: this is the default option and applies to most releases, leave this option selected if this is a brand new release that has never been released before.
-
This was released previously: if this release has already been released before, select this option and then specify the date that it was originally released in the Original Release Date field.
Exclusive Store (Exclusive Store Date)
If you want to make your release available to download exclusively on a certain store before any others, use the dropdown menu to select the store (Beatport / Juno Download / Traxsource) and period of time (minimum of 2 weeks) that you want to grant exclusivity for. In combination with a well-planned marketing campaign and pitch to that store, this can be a good method of gaining extra revenue for your releases.
Date Signed
Enter the date that you signed the release to your label. This is useful for your own internal reference, and for RoyaltyWorx users, this is pulled through as the Contract Start Date within the 'Contracts In' section.
Promo Expiry Date
If you are using PromoWorx to send promo campaigns, you will need to enter a date that you want the the campaign to expire on (after this date, it will no longer be possible for your Promo Recipients to view, download, or leave feedback). Most labels tend to set a date either on, or shortly after, the Release Date.
