The 'C Line' (Copyright Line) and 'P Line' (Phonogram Line) credits identify the rightsholder and year associated with the release's copyrights. Adding this information to your release is a simple process:
- Open the Copyright Lines window: Click on any of the 'C Line' or 'P Line' fields on your release.
- Enter the details: The 'C Line' field indicates who holds the Copyright for a particular release, protecting the intellectual property of the content creator. The 'P Line' field identifies who owns the rights to the Phonogram, protecting the sound recording itself. Be sure to also add the years that these copyrights came into effect (typically the year of the official release date) in the 'Year' field.
- Save the details: Once you have entered the correct information, click 'Save' to close the window.
The information you have saved will then update on your release. After the release is delivered, the 'C Line' (©) and 'P Line' (℗) will be reformatted and displayed by some platforms (such as Spotify).
