To create a new release, go to Release Management ➜ New Release in the menu. On the Create New Release page, complete all of the fields listed below with the relevant information to begin setting it up.
Add Artists
When adding release-level artists, you have two options to choose from:
- Add Artists Manually: if you need to add a new artist (or a new combination of artists) that you have not previously released with, select this option to manually add artists to the release.
-
Select a Display Artist: if you are releasing with an artist (or combination of artists) that you have previously released with, select this option to reuse them on the release. If the release contains multiple tracks by 4 or more artists, select this option and create a Various Artists release.
Release Name
Enter the name of the release in this field. There are naming guidelines, depending on if the release is a:
- Single: the Release Name should match the name of the Track Name on the release. If the Single contains only a remix, then its Mix Name should be appended to the Release Name in brackets.
-
EP: the word 'EP' can be appended to the Release Name. If the EP contains 2 or 3 different tracks, the Release Name can use the track names separated by a forward slash (e.g. 'Track A / Track B').
Record Label
If your label group account contains multiple record labels, use the dropdown menu to select the relevant record label that this release should be assigned to.
Release Type
Choose from one of the three options which best describes the format of your release:
- Single: a single track only, but it can also include remixes or different versions of that same track.
- EP: 2 to 8 different tracks, it can also include remixes or different versions of those tracks.
- Album: contains either 45+ minutes of music, a continuous DJ mix, or 8+ different tracks (this Release Type is commonly used when creating a compilation or Various Artists release).
