If this is your first release or track with an artist (or combination of artists), you will need to manually add them to the track. When creating a new track, choose 'Add Artists Manually' and follow these steps:
-
Display Artist: Once you have created your track, you'll be redirected to the Track Details screen. From here, click on the Track Artist field to begin adding artists at the track-level.
-
Search for an artist: Search for the individual artist you want to add to your Display Artist, then click the 'Select' button (if the artist is brand new, or does not already exist in our database, you can create a new artist). As you add artists to the track, the Display Artist section will update.
-
Add the artist's credits: After adding an individual artist to your track's Display Artist, you will be prompted to confirm their Legal Name(s) and indicate their Writer Role and/or Producer Role on this track. If they did not write and/or produce this track, you should untick the irrelevant role(s).
Under the 'Always do this when I add this artist to a track' dropdown menu, you can indicate whether or not you'd like to re-use these credits the next time you add this individual artist to another track. Once you are happy with the individual artist's credits, click the 'Save' button and this information will automatically be pulled into the Writer and/or Producer fields for this track.
-
Assign the artist's role (optional): If you have added multiple artists, you can select their role (at least 1 artist must be assigned the Main Artist role). Artists with the most significant roles will automatically be listed first: Main Artist ➜ Featuring ➜ With ➜ Presents ➜ Versus ➜ Meets
-
Reorder the artists (optional): If you have added multiple artists with the same role to the Display Artist, you can manually reorder them (e.g. if the Main Artist is 'Chris Chambers', and 'Matt Abbott' and 'Connor Devine' are both Featuring, then you can manually reorder the two Featuring artists).
- Save your Display Artist: Once you are happy with your selections, click the 'Close' button.
