When reviewing your artist statements before sending them to your artists, you may notice download figures which have a very low royalty value.
This could be an issue with a sales import or be down to store factors.
Store Factors
You may notice low-value downloads in your artist statements which are actually correct. Certain stores, in particular iTunes, can seem like the download rate is similar to a streaming rate.
This is generally an "iTunes Match" sale. You can find more details on what iTunes Match is here.
For these instances, the low value is correct and you could inform your licensor of this information if required.
Check Sales Reporting
The other thing to check would be your sales reporting. This would highlight if streams were imported as downloads in error.
From the top menu, select Royalty > Sales Reporting > Select Filters > Run Report
From the report, you should be able to highlight any incorrect sales imports, as you can view the sales format and value in one place.
You could then delete the incorrect sales data and re-import the sales.
