To be considered for playlist features, store banners and other DSP support opportunities, you must complete the Feature Submission Form for each release you would like our pitching team to review. If you have multiple release versions being delivered to different DSPs, then you will need to submit all versions independently to ensure the correct platforms receive the correct information, track versions and metadata.
Please take care to ensure all the information you submit is accurate and follow the instructions closely to ensure the best possible chance of success. Where the information / URLs you submit are inaccurate or not working, this may result in your release not being pitched.
It's best to limit your submissions and only send your most exciting releases, as these will have a bigger overall campaign, more interest around them and the biggest impact. Supporting the release in these cases will be more appealing to curators and is more effective than bombarding them with regular pitches.
How do I pitch a release?
We work to strict deadlines which are set out to us by the stores, so in order to pitch, your Official Release Date must be at least 3 weeks away. If your release meets this criteria, then you will see the 'Editorial Placements' prompt at the top of the Release Details page with a link to submit your request:
If you do not see this prompt, your Official Release Date is less than 3 weeks away and we therefore would not have sufficient time to pitch your release to the DSPs.
What are the best practices when submitting a pitch?
Below is a list of key considerations when submitting your feature requests. Please be aware that there are a limited number of support features available each week and while following this advice will give you the best possible chance of securing a feature, it is simply not possible for us or anyone else to guarantee you any features.
- Provide concise and thoughtful marketing information, and do not pad the feedback with unnecessary information. Curators receive hundreds of submissions each week, they don't have time to read irrelevant information.
- Ensure listen links are not private or restricted. Any submissions with broken or inaccessible URLs will not be pitched.
- Include performance forecasts based on social stats and historic streaming performance.
- Provide relevant territory information, i.e. the artist's hometown and key territories where they are gaining traction. Do they have a tour or some gigs in a certain territory?
- Be strict with deadlines. We have scheduled meetings with editors where we can represent your catalogue, these editors are also working to a schedule and editorial space is filled quickly and in advance. It's not always possible to bump up late submissions.
- If your release is exclusive at a download store, make sure you use the Schedule Tool to match the streaming release date to the exclusive download date. Oftentimes, the DSPs will want to add your release to their playlists if they are featuring your release on their store, therefore having the release available on the streaming platforms is important.
- Read the submission form carefully and follow the instructions. Only provide the information which is asked for.
