Before you can begin distributing music through LabelWorx, your label must be reviewed and approved by our onboarding team.

To request approval, you will first need to complete a number of setup steps. Once everything is in place, you can submit your label for review directly through the platform.

Before You Request Approval

You must complete the following steps before requesting approval for your label:

1. Return your distribution contract (if you have not received this, please contact our support team).
2. Complete your label profile by adding all required label information.
3. Upload a high-quality label logo so stores can display your branding correctly.

IMPORTANT: If your label has previously released on the stores via another distributor, you must upload your back catalogue releases to our system with the same audio, EANs, ISRCs, etc. See this guide for more information on transferring your releases over to LabelWorx.

Additional Requirements for New Labels

If your label is new, you will also need to complete the following steps:

1. Create your next 2 releases in the LabelWorx system (this gives us and the stores we work with a better understanding of your output, and is required before some stores will onboard new labels).
2. Ensure you have an active online presence with label-branded social media profiles.

These recommendations are based on feedback and requirements from our store partners. Completing them will improve the likelihood of your label being accepted by stores with stricter vetting policies.

Request Approval

Once you have completed the relevant requirements, follow these steps to submit your label for approval:

1. In the top menu, go to Labels ➜ Record Labels.
2. Click the Request Approval button next to the relevant label name.
3. Review the requirements, then click Next.
4. Enter your Estimated Release Schedule for the next six months (this information may be shared with the DSPs we work with, so please include as much detail as possible).
5. Enter any other information that may help us review your label, then click Next.
6. Click Send to submit your request.

What happens next?

Once your request has been submitted, the LabelWorx onboarding team will review your label and contact you when the review has been completed. Reviews are normally completed within a few business days, although approval can sometimes take longer due to heavy workloads, staffing holidays and other factors.

Once approved, we'll begin setting up your label with supported stores. While mainstream stores like Spotify and Apple Music are approved for distribution immediately, some stores carry out their own approval process, which typically takes a few days, but can take up to three weeks in some cases.
