Many labels now create two versions of a release, one for streaming stores, and one for download stores. The purpose of this is to tailor your release to the streaming market through shorter Radio Edits, and to the dance download stores with your Extended Mixes.
- First, create your Download Store release with the full length/extended versions of the tracks, and ensure that the correct artwork and metadata has been filled in for the release.
- In the Download Store release, click the Schedule tool icon, and select 'Download DSPs only' from the 'Select Quick Set Option' dropdown list, click the Set button, click the Save button at the bottom of the panel, and then click Apply in the icon menu.
- Once the Download Store release has been created, click Copy in the icon menu, and set the catalog number you want to use for the Streaming Store release (e.g. if you set the catalog number of the Download Store release to 'CAT001', we recommend using 'CAT001S' as the catalog number to indicate that this is the Streaming version of the release).
- You will now be redirected to the Streaming Store release. Delete all of the tracks by clicking the red X icon, and add the 'Radio Edit' mixes as new tracks. If you wish for these tracks to show without the 'Radio Edit' mix name on the streaming stores, enter the mix name as 'Original Mix'.
- Once you have added all of the 'Radio Edit' mixes to the Streaming Store release, click the Schedule tool icon, and select 'Streaming Service DSPs only' from the 'Select Quick Set Option' dropdown list, click the Set button, click the Save button at the bottom of the panel, and then click Apply in the icon menu.
- Do a final check to ensure that the correct tracks mixes are on the appropriate releases, as well as a check that they are being sent to the correct stores in the 'Schedule' tool, then set both releases to Final to lock them in.
