Youtube has just recently redesigned one of the Analytics tabs inside the Youtube Channel Dashboard.
The tab is now called Content and can be accessed by entering your Youtube Channel Dashboard, going to the Analytics section and clicking the tab “Content”.
This new tab now contains useful information in one place, with a focus on your channel’s content, which makes it ideal to analyse it for the purpose of self-auditing your channel with ease and at any time.
You can now check analytical data (ex. Views, impressions, CTR etc) per content category.
These categories are:
- Videos
- Shorts
- Live (live streams)
- Posts (community tab posts)
By selecting the “ALL” category, you can check analytical data overseeing your entire channel, regardless of content category. Further analytics are provided in this section such as “How viewers find you” and "how your videos were served out throughout Youtube’s platform" which you can then see how much of that translated into CTR (click-through rate).
As you scroll down for each content category, more analytical data is provided to better understand your Top Content in that category by views (or other metrics of your choice) and how viewers found that particular content (Youtube Search, Browse features, Playlists etc).
Overall, the newly redesigned tab “Content” in the Analytics section can be considered a strong tool for creators and channel owners to self-audit their channel at any time, with ease.
Use the data to your advantage, to better understand what specific content is performing best on your channel and on what to double down in terms of future content.
