Answers to the most common questions about Release Approvals for Distribution can be found below.
How Long Does It Take Before My Release Is Approved by Label Worx?
Our content team's standard working hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 - 18:00 GMT. We aim to approve all releases submitted for distribution within 2 working days.
When Will My Release Be Delivered to the Stores?
Releases are delivered to the stores before the release date according to the store's delivery guidelines. You can see which date the release is set to be delivered to each store on the "Deliveries" tab on the "Release details" page.
- This is not the release date, it is the estimated delivery date the release will be sent to the stores in time for the release date.
- The "ASAP" status means the system is going to be delivering the release in the next batch.
What Size Does My Artwork Need to Be?
All release artwork and label logos must be sized as at least 1400x1400px and be in JPG format.
Images in PNG or other formats will not work.
We advise using artwork that is 3000x3000, but as long as it is at least 1400x1400 this will work.
Why Can You Not Have Web Addresses on Release Cover Artwork?
Label Worx has adopted the policy of not allowing web addresses on release cover artwork because Apple has imposed this policy for their iTunes store.
It is easier for Label Worx to have you amend a release artwork that contains a web address before we approve your release for distribution than trying to amend the artwork after we have already started delivering it because iTunes has rejected it.
It is believed that Apple has this policy in place because web addresses on artwork can lead to the advertising for rival services to iTunes.
Why Has My Release Reverted Back to "Draft Release" After I Have Submitted It for Distribution?
This is most likely because your release was rejected by our content team. This only happens if your release does not conform to our formatting guidelines or has another issue.
Every time a release is rejected by our content team an email is sent explaining the exact reasons why. Please read this email thoroughly and make the corrections specified.
If you are not receiving the rejection emails please contact LabelWorx Support who can advise you accordingly. It is also important that we have your current email address so please advise us if your email address has changed.
