What is a Licensor?
A Licensor is an Artist or Company that you have licensed a track, release or remix from. In most cases, the Licensor is the Artist of the track you have signed to your record label.
Example :
- Licensor: Joel Thomas Zimmerman
- Artist: Deadmau5
- Track: Strobe
Licensors should not be confused with Licensees. A Licensee is a company or person that you license music to. Usually, the Licensee is a record label that you sub-license a track to so they can include it on a compilation/album.

How Can I Add Multiple Email Addresses to My Licensors?
Some licensors may have multiple parties who need to be sent statements, whether this is because the artist is a duo but needs their statements combined, or an organisation such as a label who need the statements sent to an accounting department as well director.
You can add multiple email addresses using the below instructions:
- Select Royalty from the Top Menu
- Then select Licensors
- Select the relevant Licensor
- Enter an email address in the Contact Email field and click Add
- Repeat the above step to add multiple email addresses if required
- Once complete, click Save
If you do not have any licensors created, please see this article on how to create your licensors.
What Is a Licensor Info Request Email?
You can send out a Licensor Info Request email through the LMS so the licensors can provide you with up to date details. Use the following instructions to send this email:
- Select Royalty from the Top Menu
- Then select Licensor Info Request
- Then select Send Info Request Email
- Select Send To All or select your specific Licensor
- Amend Email Text if required
- Click the Send button in the Icon Menu
The licensor will then receive the email with a link to a screen where they can update their details. Once complete, this will update their Licensor Details in the LabelWorx system.
