How can I set the pre-order settings for my release?

The pre-order settings for your releases can be controlled individually at the release-level, or set as a default at the account-level.

Setting Pre-Orders at the Release-Level

Pre-orders can be controlled for a release using the 'Pricing' tool on the relevant 'Release Details' page.

NOTE: If you do not see the 'Schedule' tool button in the top icon menu, please contact our support team to request that it is enabled on your account.

Within the 'Pricing' tool, you can set the pre-order option to Yes or No for each supported store. You can also specify a pre-order date and configure the pre-order settings for iTunes.

Pre-order settings within the Pricing tool

Once pre-orders are enabled, you can set a specific 'Pre-Order Date' date for the pre-order to begin. If you leave the date field blank, the following default timings will apply:

  • iTunes - pre-order available as soon as delivered
  • Amazon - pre-order available as soon as delivered
  • Beatport - 28 days before the release date
  • Traxsource - 14 days before the release date

Setting Pre-Order Defaults at the Account-Level

You can set pre-orders to be enabled by default for newly created releases. To manage these settings, go to: Settings ➜ Distribution Settings

You can then set the relevant stores to Yes or No depending on your label's requirements.

NOTE: Changing your account-level pre-order settings will not update existing releases. The new defaults will only apply to releases created after the settings have been changed.
