Classical music releases are organised primarily around the composer rather than the performing artist. As a result, streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music apply a different set of metadata rules to tracks assigned to the 'Classical' genre than they do to dance music and other contemporary genres.
If you select 'Classical' as the genre of your track, any names entered in the 'Writers' field are treated as the composers of the work. DSPs may then use these names as the primary artist for the track or release, instead of the Track Artist you have selected from our artist database.
If you do not want these metadata rules to be applied, please choose a different genre for your track.
