Neighbouring Rights remuneration is a valuable income stream for rights holders, but it’s important to understand that this process moves slowly on a global scale.
This delay isn’t due to LabelWorx or our neighbouring rights team - it comes down to how international collection societies operate. Each society has its own allocation rules and payment schedules, which typically occur only once or twice a year.
What to expect:
Payments usually begin to trickle through from around 6 months onwards.
The typical timeframe is 12–18 months before remuneration begins to flow consistently.
Once we receive royalties, they are included in your quarterly neighbouring rights statements, which you’ll find alongside your royalty statements in the Statements page in LMS.
