LabelWorx distribution clients can have their official music videos delivered to Spotify, allowing fans to enjoy their tracks alongside high-quality music videos. Music videos are not currently available to Spotify users in the USA or Canada.
Before submitting a request, please review the music video requirements below to make sure your video is eligible for delivery. Once confirmed, follow the steps under submitting your music video.
Music Video Requirements
Music video submissions must meet all of the following requirements or they will be rejected:
Existing Audio Release:
A standard audio-only version of the track must already be distributed to Spotify by LabelWorx. We cannot deliver music videos for tracks distributed by another company.
Premium Quality:
The music video must be professionally produced. Please see the examples below for guidance. Eligible videos should be comparable to traditional music videos, with elements such as a performance, narrative or creative visuals. Visualisers and artwork or lyric videos are not eligible.
Limited AI Usage:
AI may be used as part of the creative process and thoughtfully incorporated into a professionally produced music video. However, fully or predominantly AI-generated videos are not eligible. Any use of AI must be disclosed when submitting the video.
Video File:
The music video must be supplied as an MP4, M4V or MOV file with a minimum resolution of 1080p (1920 × 1080), a 16:9 aspect ratio and a file size of less than 8GB.
Thumbnail Image:
A JPG or PNG still frame from the video at 1920 × 1080 is required for the thumbnail. This must be a still frame taken directly from the video. Do not submit a separately designed image or add text, logos or other edits to the thumbnail.
18+ Content:
Videos containing any of the following themes will require an 18+ content rating: suicide or self-harm (including disordered eating), substance use, misuse or abuse, graphic, shocking or violent content, sexual content or nudity, or repeated or prolonged strong language or profanity.
Music Video Eligibility Examples
The examples below demonstrate the types of music videos that are eligible for delivery and the types of content that will not be accepted:
ELIGIBLE: Footage and animation created specifically for the music video, featuring lip-synced vocals.
ELIGIBLE: Footage filmed specifically for the music video, featuring choreography in time with the beat.
ELIGIBLE: Animation created specifically for the music video, featuring a narrative and lip-synced vocals.
NOT ELIGIBLE: Animation that only visualises the audio and does not contain a narrative.
NOT ELIGIBLE: Animation that is only being used to display or share lyrics.
Submitting Your Music Video
Once you have confirmed that your music video meets all of the requirements above:
- Complete the Music Video Delivery Submission form.
- Our team will review your submission against the eligibility requirements.
- If approved, we will deliver the music video to Spotify on your behalf and contact you once the delivery has been completed.
