LabelWorx distribution clients can have their official music videos delivered to Spotify, letting your fans enjoy your tracks with high-quality videos (not yet available for Spotify users in the USA or Canada).
Before submitting your request, please take the time to carefully review the Music Video Requirements below to ensure your video is fully eligible for delivery. Once you’ve checked through the guidelines, scroll down to learn how you can submit your music video for review and delivery by our team.
Music Video Requirements
Music video submissions must meet all of the following requirements, or they will be rejected:
Existing Audio Release:
A standard audio-only version of your track must already be distributed by LabelWorx to Spotify. We also cannot deliver music videos for tracks distributed by other companies.
Premium Quality:
The music video must be professionally produced, please see the examples below (e.g. MTV-style, with a performance, narrative, or creative visuals). Visualisers and artwork/lyric videos are not eligible.
Video File Format:
The music video must be supplied as an MP4, M4V, or MOV file in at least 1080p (1920 × 1080) resolution, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The supplied file must also be no bigger than 8GB.
Video File Size:
The music video file must be less than 8GB in size.
Thumbnail Image:
A JPG or PNG still frame from the video at 1920px × 1080px is required for a thumbnail. This must be a still frame directly from the video itself – do not create a separate design with edits, text, or logos added.
Please also note that videos containing any of the following themes will require an 18+ content rating: suicide or self-harm (including disordered eating) / substance use, misuse, or abuse / graphic, shocking, or violent content / sexual content or nudity / repeated or prolonged strong language or profanity.
Music Video Eligibility Examples
The examples below outline which types of videos qualify as eligible music videos for delivery, and which types of content are not accepted. Please review these before submitting a video:
ELIGIBLE: Footage and animation created specifically for the music video, features lip-synced vocals.
ELIGIBLE: Footage filmed specifically for the music video, features choreography in time with the beat.
ELIGIBLE: Animation created specifically for the music video, features narrative and lip-synced vocals.
NOT ACCEPTED: Animation is only visualising the audio, does not contain a narrative.
NOT ACCEPTED: Animation is only being used for the purposes of sharing lyrics.
Submitting Your Music Video
Once you’ve confirmed that your music video meets all of the above requirements:
- Complete the Music Video Delivery Submission form.
- Our team will review your submission.
- If eligible, we will handle the delivery to Spotify on your behalf and contact you once complete.
