A Mixed Compilation Album is an album that contains multiple tracks mixed together into a continuous mix. The formatting of a Mixed Compilation Album varies depending on the store/type of service the album will be released on (streaming platforms or download stores), you must create a release for the streaming or download stores as per the below guidelines.
You will require access to the 'Schedule' tool (found in the icon menu on the Release Details page) to tell the system where to send each release. If you do not have this tool, please contact support to request this is enabled for you.
For Streaming Platforms
A Mixed Compilation Album is an album that contains a Continuous DJ mix that is cut up into individual tracks. The benefits of this are that each track play gets counted as a stream and therefore a royalty on the streaming services. This type of formatting also appeals to the streaming services target audience more as a mixed compilation product is more of a performance than just a compilation album.
