How can I set a release to be exclusive to a store?

LabelWorx has finalised deals with selected stores to ensure a higher royalty return is collected if you give them your release exclusively for a period of time.

Exclusive means giving the store selected, the ability to release your single / EP or Album 2, 4 or 8 weeks earlier than any other store.

After selecting your official release date, you can select these stores from the Exclusive Store drop-down field on your release details page. The system will then automatically calculate your exclusive store release date for you.

IMPORTANT - If a store that supports exclusives is not appearing in the drop-down menu, it means that the store has not yet accepted deliveries for your label. You can check the application process with the stores by going to Labels > Record Labels > Stores

What should I set as my release date?

The release date is the decision of the label and the system is flexible to accommodate various situations. The release date is set on the Release Details page.

We recommend leaving around 5-6 weeks lead time when finalising your releases for distribution. This gives you time to effectively promote your release and for the stores to ingest the release and consider it for feature spots.

If you do need to rush a release out for any reason, we don't recommend pushing sooner than 2 weeks.

2 weeks is enough time for the majority of stores to ingest your releases so they go live in time. We can deliver to the stores within 48 hours, however, it is the stores that take the time to ingest releases.
