Credits are an important part of your release's metadata and must be added to a release. This must be entered in the LabelWorx system at release level and at track level.

By default, the release level credits will be automatically used for each track. This is usually relevant for singles & EPs with the same artist(s) on all tracks and saves you entering the same information each time.

If you have a compilation or label sampler style release, then you must ensure that the relevant credits are entered for each individual track as they will surely differ.

HOW TO ADD RELEASE LEVEL CREDITS

Release level credits can be added to the Credits tab on the Release Details Page. Here you can enter the key credits for the release as a whole. Please see a breakdown of what is required for each field:

Written By - This must contain the names of all of the writers of the original track(s) separated by a comma. This usually consists of the artist's legal name. If there are too many artists to list (i.e. more than 8) then you can use "Various Artists" instead and then detail the individuals at track level. Please do NOT enter your label name here. Remixer names are not usually credited here.

Produced By - This must contain the names of all of the producers of the original track(s) separated by a comma. If there are too many artists to list (i.e. more than 8) then you can use "Various Artists" instead. Please do NOT enter your label name here. Remixer names are not usually credited here.

Vocalist - Please specify the vocalist's name here. If no vocalist features on the track(s) then leave this field blank. Please do NOT enter your label name or any text to indicate that no vocalists have appeared such as "n/a or "none" etc.

Publisher - The publisher field should contain the name of the publisher of this track. This should be the publishing company or rights organization that will be collecting for the composition copyright. This is not usually your record label unless you have specifically signed the publishing rights. If you are not sure then specify "Copyright Control".

C Line - The C Line field should contain the company/person(s) who own the copyright on this release which does not pertain to the sound recordings. This may be copyright relating to but not limited to the underlying composition, lyrics, artwork or liner notes.

P Line - The P Line field should contain the company/person(s) who own the phonographic copyright, so essentially who owns the copyright to the audio recording on the release

HOW TO ADD TRACK LEVEL CREDITS

The track level credits are added on the Mix Details page. To access this page, go to the relevant releases Release Details page and click Update & Upload Files to the right of the tracklisting.

Here you can un-tick Use the same credits entered for the main release and the menu will expand to give you additional track credit fields as shown in the image below. Here, you can enter the specific credits for the individual track. This is mandatory for compilations and releases with multiple artists with different tracks.

Once you have updated the individual track credits, click Apply or Save
